Downloads QPcolorsoft 501 is a stand-alone software for color correction of digital pictures.QPcolorsoft 501 is used together with the high quality color target card QPcard 201.
 QPcolorsoft runs on Windows and Mac OS X platforms.
The color correction procedure is very simple. Set the white balance on the camera to a pre-set selection or use custom white balance setting. Auto
white balance must NOT be used. Take a picture of QPcard 201 and a picture of the subject in the same light. First open the picture of the card in QPcolorsoft. Mark the card with the marking tool. Create a color correction profile by clicking a button. Correct colors in the picture by clicking a second button. Save the profile. Now open the picture of the chosen subject. Apply the saved profile to the picture and correct the colors by clicking a button.
QPcolorsoft has a batch function. Take many pictures with the same camera, same white balance setting and under same lighting conditions. One of the pictures must include a QPcard 201. Create a color correction profile using
the picture of QPcard 201. Batch process all pictures automatically.
There are three options for color correction in QPcolorsoft: Neutral, Sinar and Velvia. Neutral gives colors resembling the exact colors on the card. The Sinar profile was created using a professional Sinar camera with a digital back. We took a picture of QPcard 201 under perfect circumstances with Bron studio flash equipment. The picture was adjusted for best possible quality by a photography expert from Sinar. The Velvia profile was created in similar manners. The card was shot with large format Fujichrome Velvia film and scanned I a neutral manner. The exact Velvia (and Sinar) color values were used to create the target colors in QPcolorsoft.
QPcolorsoft 501 does not affect contrast or lightness of a picture. The only thing the software takes care of is the color balance of each pixel of the
picture.
